Recently a video became viral where a 19 year old boy seen to be running to reach home 10 km away from his workplace . He says he does this every night. He runs at night while returning back to home from his duty as he does not get time to do this because of his work assignments. He wishes to join Indian Army and needs to run to keep himself fit. What is the story Delhi viral boy aka Delhi Running Boy?
The story started from a clip shared by Vinod Kapri on social media. The video shows an young lad running on the street and the time is said to be around 12 am. When asked if Kapri could drop him where he wanted to go, the kid left some inspiring words for all. This became instant social media share and became Sudden Viral and got widely known as Delhi Running Boy, Delhi Midnight Running Boy etc.
What exactly happened in the video?
Filmmaker Vinod Kapri keeps asking questions to the boy running side by side with his car. On being asked the boy says his name is Pradeep and he is 19 years old. He runs 10 kilometres every day to reach his workplace and comes back the same way. He works at a McDonald’s store near Noida’s Sector 16. On return, he prepares food for himself and his brother to have dinner.
It is seen that Kapri offered the boy a lift multiple times however, he is firm that he would keep running as he is preparing himself to join Indian Army.
Later he was offered dinner but he did not accept that too.

Why the video inspires?
The boy, Pradeep Mehra, is only 19 years old and still seemed to be very matured and focused towards his goal. Firstly, he never tempted to get a lift and take himself off from running which he practices every night to be fit enough to join Indian Army. This truly inspires oneself how to be focused towards goal no matter what distraction comes on the way.
He did not accept dinner offered by Kapri as he thinks his elder brother would remain hungry when he returns back to home. It shows how he loves his brother (read family) and sacrifices his readily available happiness for his family.

This video went sudden viral all over and grabbed attention from top politician, defence personnel, celebrities etc. Lt General Satish Dua’s Twitter handle says that he has connected to his channel to see if this guy can be trained and tested for the recruitment process for Indian Army.
His Josh is commendable, and to help him pass the recruitment tests on his merit, I’ve interacted with Colonel of KUMAON Regiment, Lt Gen Rana Kalita, the Eastern Army Commander. He is doing the needful to train the boy for recruitment into his Regiment.
